£15.6 million bid from Juventus for Dzeko rejected by City

Manchester City have reportedly turned down a £15.6 million offer from Juventus for star striker Edin Dzeko.

City, who paid £27 million when they signed Dzeko just 18 months ago, will be looking to re coup as much as possible as they make a bid to sign Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie.

German giants Bayern Munich are also in the running to sign the Bosnian striker. Dzeko has already played in the Bundesliga in 2008/09 season with Wolfsburg, who went on to win the title and was the league’s top scorer the following season netting 22 times.

Selling Dzeko would be beneficial to City as it would take Juventus’s interest away from Van Persie and also free additional funds to pay Manchester City’s significant wages bill. City will be hoping to secure Van Persie ahead of their cross town rivals, Manchester United, who have also expressed an interest in Van Persie.
